RFB&D Affiliates

To best meet the needs of its members, RFB&D collaborates closely with various organizations in the learning disabilities field to stay informed about trends and changes. Read more about these organizations and how working with them will help RFB&D better meet the needs of individuals with learning disabilities.

CAST was founded in 1984 as the Center for Applied Special Technology in Massachusetts. CAST has earned international recognition for its development of innovative, technology-based educational resources and strategies based on the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). International Dyslexia Association (IDA), founded in 1949, is a national not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting and providing resources to individuals with dyslexia, their families and the communities that they live in. Visit www.interdys.org today to obtain information on current laws and trends as well as a wealth of other resource materials.

National Joint Committee on Learning Disabilities (NJCLD) was founded in 1975. NJCLD is a national committee of representatives of organizations committed to the education and welfare of individuals with learning disabilities. Over 350,000 individuals constitute the membership of the organizations represented by the NJCLD.  The NJCLD has written a number of valuable papers on issues related to learning disabilities which can be accessed here.
