Objectives: |
Given five diagrams of polygons, each student will correctly name each polygon by classifying them according to the number of sides and the number of angles with 80 percent accuracy
Given pattern blocks and teacher modeling, each student will correctly name the four quadrilaterals by their more commonly used names (square, parallelogram, rhombus, or trapezoid)
Given six pattern blocks, each student will trace on a math journal page at the end of the lesson two pattern blocks that show quadrilateral shapes and explain in words what they learned about shapes and how each shape is evident in the world around us.
