Objectives: |
Students will:
- Read and/or listen to the poems in the book Thanks a Million by Nikki Grimes.
- Identify elements of poetry that are different from other forms of writing.
- Identify the steps to the writing process and how to use them when writing poetry.
- Use observation and note taking as a prewriting strategy.
- Use observation notes to write and publish a poem of gratitude for each day of the week.
