Students will:
- Listen to the book This Land Was Made for You and Me: The Life and Songs of Woody Guthrie by Elizabeth Partridge using the Power Listening Strategy and discuss the book both literally and analytically.
- Discuss how world and national politics shaped Woody Guthrie’s music and art.
- Write a response about the irony of Guthrie’s communist ties and his iconic song This Land Is Your Land.
